Individual Therapy

Free Initial Consult

(20 mins)

This is a time to ask any questions you may have about therapy sessions and decide if this feels like a good fit. Click here to schedule an introduction.

I’ll be interested in learning: What brought you to therapy, what makes this the right time, and what goals you have for our work together.

While I don't accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of the session cost. I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-pay would be. I can also provide superbills (proof of payment) if you’d prefer to submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Individual Therapy

(50-60 mins)

I offer EMDR and IFS therapy to high-achieving millennial women who struggle with people-pleasing and boundary setting. Therapy is an opportunity to explore the roots of these issues, learn what’s keeping you stuck, and help you move forward in alignment with your values. Individual appointments are offered via telehealth.

High-Achieving Millennial Women Who Want To Set Boundaries & Stop People-Pleasing

From the outside, no one would know you are struggling. You are the one who keeps it all together. You work hard to nurture your relationships, commit to your goals, and tend to yourself. You’ve tried many different types of therapy and self-help only to find yourself spinning around the same topics of burnout, feeling stuck with a partner who triggers themes from your childhood, and difficulty breaking patterns of putting others before you.

In IFS & EMDR therapy you have an opportunity to explore the roots of your issues and change patterns that you’ve carried into the present. Unlike traditional talk therapy, these sessions guide you through trauma-informed interventions that allow you to process & unburden the deeper wounds that underlie patterns of people-pleasing and poor boundaries. You may feel a little lost, but together, we can help you regain trust and connection with the most authentic, intuitive, and emotionally aware version of yourself.

IFS (Internal Family Systems)

We all have different “parts” within us. Maybe you’ve heard of an inner critic or an inner child. Maybe different versions of you show up at work and at home. Sometimes parts can show up in a disruptive way. For example, you may have boundaries you’d like to set with a parent, but a part of you can’t help but people-please even though another part of you really wants to say, “No!” to them. IFS helps you untangle these types of inner conflict.

There are no bad parts. It’s likely that your people-pleasing part learned long ago to prioritize others’ needs before your own. People-pleasing in childhood might have been a way to manage a chaotic household or a strategy to gain your parents’ love and support. This was an adaptive, logical way for your brain to navigate uncertain circumstances. Boundaries might feel like a threat to your inner people-pleaser who wants to give every possible chance to your closest relationships. That makes sense!

The beauty of IFS is creating a compassionate space where this part of you can fully express itself without judgment. You can learn to turn toward and support this part rather than feel controlled or disrupted by it. IFS can be combined with EMDR therapy.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

If disturbing events from the past stay with you in your day-to-day, you may be struggling with trauma. This can look like avoiding certain places or people, nightmares, frequently feeling on edge about when the other shoe will drop, abrupt changes in mood, being easily startled by certain noises, or getting stuck cycling through memories from the experience. You may even be physically distanced from the experience or the people involved, but continue to carry the emotional and mental weight of the memory.

EMDR will help you understand and process the roots of past adverse experiences or traumatic memories. In sessions, you can expect a calm, safe, and contained space to work through different memories that have remained stuck with you. EMDR helps to alleviate the burden and symptoms caused by these memories, which allows you to feel more like yourself and connected to the present moment. EMDR can be combined with IFS therapy.
